Treble web application - 21/05/2026
3D viewport visualization toolbar:
- Added a new viewport toolbar with several visualization modes, available in both the editor and results views:
- Particle animation — visualize how sound reflections propagate through the model in real time.
- Reflection density — highlight surfaces based on how many reflections reach them, filterable by reflection order and source.
- Absorption coloring — color surfaces by their absorption coefficients, with a legend and controls.
Wavefield animation for surface receivers:
- New wavefield analysis mode that animates the time-varying sound pressure field from wave-based (DG) simulations on surface receiver grids. The surface mesh is displaced in 3D based on pressure amplitude, giving a physical visualization of how sound propagates and decays over the receiver surface. Includes a timeline scrubber and adjustable playback speed.
Surface receiver comparison (delta view):
- Compare surface receiver results across two simulations side by side in a single difference heatmap, making it easy to see how changes to the model or simulation settings affect the acoustical parameters.
Surface receiver results view:
- Redesigned the surface receiver results UI/UX to accommodate the new visualization options.
Reference curves in Reflection tracking:
- Added a reference curves chart in the Reflection tracking tab with environment-specific presets for Speech and Music, making it easier to evaluate reflection patterns against established criteria.
Grid receivers:
- Increased the maximum number of grid receiver points to 2,500, enabling denser and larger receiver grids.
Resizable results panels:
- Added draggable horizontal split panes in the Results view, allowing you to adjust the layout between the results panel and the 3D viewport.
Rhino integration:
- Added a new Treble plugin for Rhino, allowing you to prepare and upload acoustic models directly from Rhino. The plugin supports geometry layer setup, cloud-based geometry validation with detailed feedback, uploading models to Treble, and fetching geometry back into Rhino. Install via Rhino's Package Manager.
Performance:
- Significantly improved source summing performance, resulting in faster processing and support for larger summing jobs.
- Improved model loading performance with asynchronous loading and precomputed geometry metadata.
- Faster source and receiver point validation using optimized raycasting.
Bug fixes:
- Fixed the edit popup form resetting when a simulation completion notification arrives.
- Fixed the source summing progress indicator not updating correctly during processing.
- Fixed pressing Enter in source/receiver lists triggering an unintended drag operation.
- Fixed sources/receivers becoming locked after creation.
- Fixed a misleading "too little volume" warning appearing for non-watertight models.
- Fixed double/thick edge lines appearing on the 3D model.
- Fixed surface receiver transform being lost when changing coarseness or offset settings.
- Fixed results response plots showing duplicate traces and losing EDC band selections.
